The Right to Possess a Firearm

The Right to Possess a Firearm

Austin Wood, Staff Writer

Some people believe that the world would be a whole lot safer if we didn’t have the right to possess firearms. They think that a lot less harm would be done to one and other if there were no guns. I believe that if someone wants to hurt someone, they will do it regardless of guns or not. Either way people will hurt other people so you might as well be able to have a way to protect yourself with firearms. If you decide you want a gun you must go through a 10 day waiting period in order to purchase a gun also known as the cool down period so it gives you a lot of time to think about why you want the gun just in case you wanted the gun to go and hurt someone. You might change your mind by the time you get the gun. You must be 18 years or older to purchase a shotgun or rifle and 21 to buy any other kind of guns like a hand gun.
