A fundamental part of the human species is our ability to communicate through a vast range of words and emotions, something that just about every other species on earth lack in terms of the depth of which we have evolved it. Not only have entire civilizations been constructed through the use of communication, but the very foundation of links between the mind and body have been explored further than ever before, and has allowed humans to really get into microscopic level of what makes us so unique. One of these very simple things that truly define the evolution and depth of our species is our way of greeting each-other. Unlike animals who ways of greeting are very limited, we have over 200,000 different ways of saying “hello”, and each with their own set of context and emotions. We say “hello” because ever since the dawn of humanity, the need to survive drove us to group up and work as teams, and during that process a way of greeting and showing of wanting/ giving attention was created. Nowadays the role of greetings have changed quite a bit. Instead of survival, it’s a symbol of friendship, good nature and bonding.
