Why do people use cocaine? The main and obvious reasons are because of the high they get from it or maybe they are just curious. However, the truth is cocaine is a highly addictive and a deadly drug that unfortunately approximately .4% of the the world’s population, or seventeen million people, abuse cocaine. In fact, side effects from doing coke range from experiencing paranoia to having seizures and heart attacks. Also, because coke is addictive, evidently the addict will keep needing it and therefore he will blow all of his money due to the fact that it is a costly drug. Another reason is because cocaine can basically

‘fry” a person’s brain; it contains all sorts of weird chemicals that destroy brain cells. Coke is not something most families and friends would approve of someone doing which means that, although at first they will try their best to help the person get out of their addiction, eventually it can lead to the possibility of being abandoned by them. Finally, it will change a person drastically. Further into their addiction, when they look in the mirror that person will no longer see the same person they were before the drug consumed them.
