On September 8, 2018 in Ridgecrest California was the Parade of 1,000 Flags. As the community of Ridgecrest gathers together for a beautiful occasion of remembering the lives that were lost on Sept. 11, 2001. Every flagged marched in the parade is to honor the first responders, military service members, and veterans that were there to help out on the terrorist attack. As everyone took a part in making the parade a beautiful event to remember those who can no longer be with us. Even the local town high school Burroughs pitched in with their band marching along with the thousands of flags.

Not only did the event proudly show support towards the tragedy of 9/11 but it brought the community of young and old together. As everyone gathered to make the memories of the lost ones born again we made 1000 flags fly. It was a beautiful event ready to be well remembered by all of the towns people even if you didn’t go you will always know about the glorious day. With a few amazing and proud speakers such as Mayor Peggy said “The parade represents the public, and that without a strong show of support from the public, it wouldn’t make as much sense to hold it.”
