Super Bowl XLIII in February 3rd, 2019 is being hosted at the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Recently the NFL announced they had selected pop band Maroon 5 to perform the halftime show for the super bowl, and some were mad.

Atlanta based rapper Waka Flaka Flame said it was “not fair” and that “they needed someone from Atlanta, it’s only right.” Which he told TMZ after it was reported that LA originated band Maroon 5 was chosen. Waka also argued that dude to black culture’s impact on the NFL that the league should be more accepting of Colin Kaepernick- led movement to kneel during the national anthem in protest of racial inequality. “You’re coming to the biggest black state in America. Why wouldn’t you let a black artist perform and show world that we’re progressing, that’s not cool.” He also told TMZ.

Waka suggested Atlanta artists, Migos and Future as ideal artists to perform during the halftime show in place of Maroon 5. He even offered his own services, say that he would perform his hit “hard in da paint” if given the chance to.
